Something that inspired me when creating this artwork was multiple bright colors. I decided to go with a rubix cube for my idea because it uses multiple bright colors. A rubix's cube is simple but not too simple, and I am trying to find a new aesthetic for this year's art class. Some challenges that occurred during my artwork would be the hot glue and the design. Yes, two squares may be simple to put together, but it was actually harder than you’d expect. I overcame these challenges by looking at it from multiple perspectives and trying to find different or new ways to put it together. One thing that I am very pleased with in my artwork would be the two smiley faces on the circles on the side of the rubix's cube. I am happy with them because the lines are very straight and perfect, I don’t really know why, but it puts a smile on my face. One thing I might think or do differently would be my ideas, I don’t explore the world with them, I do very simple designs. I would definitely improve my patience with my artwork, I do not have any patience, I like things done quickly. I would do these differently by exploring everything that is out there in the world, besides just what I know or see. I am definitely going to work on my ideas, patience, and creativity this year in art, and I am going to push myself to do better and create better artworks.

I didn't really do much this summer, I honestly just worked, hung out with my boyfriend, and watched anime all summer. I don't have a favorite artwork that I've made. Two goals that I have for art this year would be getting better at making faces and doing more creative artworks. Something I'm looking forward to in art would be drawing faces and making my own creative artwork.
I came up with my idea by writing some things that described me, drew images of those things, then put them together so they look cute and go well together. My print shows my identity by the butterflies, the cross in the back, the spotify scan code, the paw prints, and my school letter. My print shows my culture by the football in the back with the bow on it. Something I really focused on was the bow in the middle of my football, that was the hardest thing out of my print. It was challenging to make the butterflies so I had to go and take a break to unfocus then go back and I got it. If I could make changes on my print I would reorganize the images better. If I could improve my work, I would push in different spots because I didn't push in the right things. My favorite thing about my print is my football and my cheer bow.
One thing I really enjoyed about my idea of a culture print was the chinese writing on the left side of my Chinese print. Some things I learned from doing these prints is that less is better with the ink. Another thing I learned was the push your print in harder or more.
I chose American Gothic and I chose this artwork because I had lots of ideas for it compared to the others. I used my unique ideas in my work by changing the girl to my cat Cali and changing the guy to my dead body, aka my skeleton. The hardest thing during this artwork was drawing the skeleton and painting it. Something I am really proud of in my artwork is my cat, Cali, I really love how she came out and I personally think that she is the best thing in my artwork.
I chose this face for my portrait because it had bright colors with dark contours. The portrait is a photo of my best friend, Jaedyn Olson. The artist tat inspired my art work was Karen Killimnik. She inspired me by the nature theme with bright beautiful colors. I "borrowed" the bright colors, dark contours, and gorgeous nature background from my artist. Something that is unique about my artwork is that it has a pale white face with the dark contours of the jaw line and the nose compared to other artwork which has a skin tone face with normal real contours. Something that I worked really hard on in this artwork is the eyes, making sure that they are blended well and look just like they do in the original selfie. Something that I learned or improved on during this artwork unit is the eyes and blending colors.
Me and my family used to play checkers all the time, so I took the checkers theme and put it into my own hands and something different. I really liked designing 3D buildings in art in 8th grade and that explains the 3 buildings. Some challenges that I faced while making this project is cutting and gluing. I overcame most of these challenges by being slower when I glued things, and when I cut things, I focused more on cutting straighter lines. Something I am really pleased with is definitely the checker board base. I was most scared that it wouldn't look good but it really ties the entire sculpture together. 1 thing I would do differently i designing my buildings and making them taller, wider and some skinnier than the others so it looked like a real city. I would do this differently because some of the buildings don't look real, and some of them are leaning because I didn't cut them straight enough.
